RU ADMIN LOSES GROUND TO ABVP

Jaipur: The high-voltage drama at Rajasthan University continued on the second day — day of withdrawal of nomination — with ABVP workers threatening the administration with mass self-immolation over the rejection of nominations for General Secretary and Vice President. The candidates also attempted to hang themselves. Later, after 8 hours of ruckus, the Scrutiny Committee found both the nominations filed by the ABVP candidates valid. The Scrutiny Committee had rejected the nominations of ABVP candidates for the posts of General Secretary and Vice President.

The ABVP workes along with National Secretary Hushyar Singh Meena reached the Chief Electoral Officer Harsh Dwivedi’s chamber and created a ruckus. Meena even attempted to attack Dwivedi but police stopped him. The ABVP workers also gheraoed the DSW office. ABVP candidate for general secretary Arvind Jha had filed his nomination against the rules of the court, while for the post of vice-president, Sakshi had presented false documents and nominations of both were rejected. The DSW office has also rejected the nomination of Rohitash Meena, Independent for the post of General Secretary. Narendra Yadav from ABVP, Ritu Barala from NSUI and Rajendra Kumar Gora from SFI have filed their nominations. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Boxer Vijender Singh released a video in support of NSUI candidate Ritu Barala. He referred to Barala as his younger sister.
