RPL to begin on Aug 19, finale in Jpr

Jaipur: The Rajasthan Premier League will now be organized in the state on the lines of IPL. The League will start from Jodhpur on August 19 while the final and closing ceremony will be held at SMS Stadium, Jaipur.

Six teams have been included in the competition which include Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Sikar, Udaipur and Bhilwara. Now bid will be placed for the auction of their franchise and players will be selected after the franchise is finalized.

RPL was launched on Monday after getting the approval of RPL from BCCI. Now bids will be placed for the auction of their franchise. The players will be selected after the franchise is finalised.

RCA President Vaibhav Gehlot said that players of the state will get a big platform through RPL. With this, the talent coming out in cricket will get direction, he said.
