Rising crime: Stats show Raj tops in missing girls

Jaipur: Rajasthan has the highest number of missing girls in the reported missing cases but they are rarely traced. Police are trying hard but success eludes them. In Rajasthan, from January 1, 2020 to January 31, 2022, a total of 9315 missing FIRs were registered in various police stations of the state. In these, 9608 children have gone missing. Out of these, 8866 children have been found and handed over to their parents. Police are trying to trace the remaining 742 children. Statistics show that from Jan 2021 to December 2021, 792 minor boys went missing, in which the police traced 705. The search for 92 is on. In the same year, 4085 minor girls were reported missing. Police traced 3604, but 481 are still missing. In 2021, between January and Dec, 5386 adult boys left their homes. After a missing report was registered, police found 3748. During this, 16492 cases were registered for disappearance of adult girls. Police found 12158, but 4334 missing.
