Recognition for Rajasthani: CS writes to GoI
Jaipur: Efforts to grant constitutional recognition to the Rajasthani language have resumed. Education Minister Madan Dilawar initiated the push, with CS Sudhansh Pant writing to Union Home Secretary Govind Mohil, recommending Rajasthani’s inclusion in the Eighth Schedule. The letter refers to the committee’s recommendation chaired by Sitakant Mahapatra. Despite a 2003 resolution, Rajasthani has not yet been included. The govt now seeks approval for constitutional recognition, a longawaited step for millions.
