RCA to organise RPL on lines of IPL, only players from Raj will participate

Jaipur: Rajasthan Cricket Association is planning to organise Rajasthan Premier League (RPL) on the lines of IPL from September. RCA President Vaibhav Gehlot also held an important meeting with members of national executive in this regard.

Many state cricket associations of the country are organizing cricket leagues but RCA will organize such a league for the first time.

The association has written a letter to BCCI seeking permission to organize this league, RCA Vice President Amin Pathan said.

He said there will be teams in the name of the cities of Rajasthan.

Eight teams are proposed to playe in Jaipur and Jodhpur. The league, which will last for about 20 days, will have 31 matches including the final. It is believed that a foreign player will serve as a mentor for each team.

In league, only players of Rajasthan will get a chance and players will be auctioned.
