RCA polls delayed again, Bihani shifts stance
Jaipur: The ad hoc committee formed to conduct the elections of Rajasthan Cricket Association is now showing reluctance in holding the elections. The committee’s convener and BJP MLA Jaideep Bihani is repeatedly changing his stance regarding the elections.
The ad-hoc committee was appointed by the government following the resignation of Vaibhav Gehlot from the RCA president’s post. The Registrar of Cooperatives dissolved the previous executive committee and appointed Bihani’s panel with the mandate to organize elections within three months.
However, the committee has failed to meet this deadline, and despite an extension, a date for elections remains undecided.
After a meeting of the RCA ad-hoc committee on Monday, Bihani stated that they are writing to the Registrar and Sports Secretary to collect lists of districts before proceeding further.
When pressed for a specific election date, Bihani responded that no date could be provided at this time.
He claimed that the matter of scheduling elections falls under the purview of the Sports Council, rather than the ad-hoc committee. This contradicts the committee’s primary role, which is solely to conduct elections.
