R’bore: Volunteer fired for reporting poaching bid
Sawai Madhopur: A volunteer was fired after he informed the forest department about a noose of wire tangled around the neck of Nilgai in Barina village in Phalodi range of Ranthambore.
The forest department took action after seeing Nilgai’s pic with wire noose. Ranger Raj Bahadur snatched the volunteer’s camera and fired him for sharing the picture with media persons.
However, iron wire traps were found in Ranthambore earlier also. But the firing of the volunteer shows the repressive treatment meted out to volunteers by forest officials. In case, a noose is found around an animal, the ranger should be ques
