Ravikanth discusses e-bus service scheme implementation

Jaipur: Principal Secretary T Ravikanth held a review meeting regarding the ebus service scheme. Officials of the Directorate of Local Bodies and the civic bodies of the cities concerned participated in the meeting through VC.

The officials discussed the construction of charging stations for the electric buses, preparing civil infrastructure and preparing the route map of the buses.

Earlier, the Central government was to provide 500 e-buses. Out of these, 150 air-conditioned electric buses for Jaipur and 50 electric buses each for Jodhpur, Kota, Ajmer, Udaipur, Alwar, Bhilwara and Bikaner cities will be provided by the Central government.

Apart from this, additional 175 e-buses will be provided from the Central government. In the meeting, it was decided to form an Urban Transport Cell in the Directorate of Local Bodies. The cell would monitor the implementation of the scheme.
