RAS officer terminated for being absent for 10 years

Jaipur: A senior RAS officer was dismissed from service by the Rajasthan government for not serving for over ten years. Nar Singh was dismissed by the Bhajan Lal government after failing to serve for the last 10 yrs and 8 months.

Nar Singh was transferred from his position as Assistant Collector in Behror to SDO in Pokaran on February 28, 2014, but he did not report for duty at the new posting. Subsequently, Virendra Singh Yadav was appointed in his place, while Narsingh was put under awaiting posting orders (APO) status. Nar Singh was expected to report to the Personnel Department; however, he failed to do so. After a process involving extensive correspondence and documentation for 10 years, the decision was made to terminate him from the service.
