Raj’s mineral auctions set revenue record, will generate employment

Jaipur: Rajasthan is becoming a major mineral hub of the country in gold, copper, iron ore, base metal, manganese and other major minerals. Under the guidance of CM Bhajan Lal Sharma and leadership of Mines Secretary Anandi and Director Bhagwati Prasad Kalal, Rajasthan has created a new record in preparing blocks of minerals and auctioning them.

In the last financial year, a total of 31 blocks were auctioned, in which mining licences of 22 blocks of limestone and composite licenses of five blocks of base metal and four blocks of iron ore were auctioned.

The auction of mining licences will earn the Mines Department a revenue of Rs 17 thousand 104 crore in the coming years. Besides, it will also generate employment opportunities. The auction of 53 limestone blocks is going on.
