Raj’s Abhimanyu to serve as Amit Shah’s PS!

Jaipur: A young IAS officer of the state has got a notable posting in Delhi. Abhimanyu Kumar of the 2011 batch has been made the private secretary of Union Home and Cooperative Minister Amit Shah. The IAS cadre of Rajasthan is happy over this posting because the selection of an IAS officer from Rajasthan in the personal staff of the senior-most minister of the central government is an important event.

Abhimanyu Kumar went to Delhi on central deputation in January 2022 and was holding the post of Deputy Secretary in the Commerce and Industry Ministry since then. Abhimanyu Kumar, who was the collector of Sirohi for 6 months and Karauli for 20 months, came into the limelight when, despite holding a junior post like Joint Secretary- Plan, he was given the responsibility of a high and important position of Technical Director in a highly technical department like Rajcomp.

Later, when he went to the Agriculture Department, he was also given the charge of a powerful post like Managing Director of Rajcomp and this incident was reported in the media.

Just as he had surprised administrative experts by getting the responsibility of a big post even while being a junior officer, similarly his high jump into the bigger role of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s private secretary has surprised everyone again.

In January 2022, Abhimanyu went to Delhi under the Central Staffing Scheme for four years. Now with the present posting, he will be working on the new position till January 2026.
