Rajasthan welcomed over 10 cr tourists in 2022
Jaipur: Having suffered huge losses due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the tourism industry of Rajasthan is now booming with recording a high number of tourist arrivals.
More than 10.87 crore tourists visited the desert state in the year 2022. The highest footfall to the state was of domestic tourists, official sources in the tourism department said.
Of the total 10.87 tourists, 10.83 crore were domestic and 3.96 lakh were foreigners, according to official sources. This is the highest number of tourist arrivals in the state after the corona pandemic.
In the year 2021, only 2.20 crore tourists visited Rajasthan. Increase of more than 8 crore in the number of tourists in one year is a big achievement of the Gehlot government.
As the result of the hard work of Team Rajasthan Tourism-- Minister Vishvendra Singh, Principal Secretary Gayatri Rathore and Director Rashmi Sharma, the state is being recognised as a safe destination.
