RAJASTHAN LEADS IN SOLAR ENERGY DUE TO STATE GOVT’S POLICIES: CM GEHLOT

Jaipur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Thursday that Rajasthan has become a leading state in the field of renewable energy. “Investments are continuously pouring in renewable energy sector after the state government came out with new solar and wind energy policies and simplification of rules. Max MoUs have also been signed in field of solar energy of solar energy in the Invest Rajasthan Summit,” the CM said while addressing a programme organised to mark MoU signing between RVUNL & CIL for setting up 1190Mw solar project. He said, “With the setting up of a solar park, uninterrupted power supply can be made to general public along with saving coal and reducing pollution.” CIL has got the number of coal rakes increased, which has ensured smooth supply of coal to state, CM said adding that it is easy to set up solar plants due to State’s large area. Rajasthan ranks 1st in the country by setting up 14825MW solar power projects. Energy Minister BS Bhati said that investment is coming into state from private & govt sectors in solar energy sector due to State Govt’s policies.
