Rajasthan High Court cancels Excise Department’s recovery notice

Jaipur: In a matter related to recovery notices worth billions of rupees of the Excise Department, Justice Mahendra Kumar Goel’s bench dismissed all the notices and attached property, land and vehicles as penalty. The High Court told all the contractors to provide a report to the department in four weeks. A petition was filed by Lalit Saraswat and 300 others of Palwal, Haryana. The department imposed a penalty for not taking the prescribed quantity of liquor. Advocate Kunwar Ashok Veer Singh Nirvana and other lawyers said, “The liquor could not be lifted due to Covid-19 guidelines and other reasons.” During the hearing, the state government cancelled all recovery notices.
