Raj Road Safety Act 2022 released to curb accidents

Jaipur: The State Govt is on alert mode to check the increasing road accidents. After the budget announcement, Transport and Road Safety Department prepared and released the draft Rajasthan Road Safety Act 2022 to improve road safety measures and reduce accidents.

The draft was released on Tuesday on Department’s website for public suggestions. People can give reactions and suggestions on draft by August 31. Under the draft, through the policy being made for Rajasthan State Road Safety 2022, engagement will be increased by creating authority with the agencies related to road safety. The policy will be issued every five years. Also, after the completion of the policy period, changes will be made as per prevailing road safety scenario. According to the officers, govt is considering making strict rules on drunken driving. Along with this, under road safety, traffic counseling centers will be set up in every district. At the same time, the training of drivers has also been taken care of in the draft policy to reduce accidents in the state.
