Raj ready to lead as North’s manufacturing hub, says B Santhanam
Jaipur: The Rising Rajasthan event in Jaipur kicks off today, showcasing the state’s potential as a manufacturing hub. In an exclusive interview, B Santhanam, CEO of Saint-Gobain Asia Pacific & Indian Region, praised Rajasthan’s readiness to lead as the manufacturing capital of northern India. Highlighting the theme “Replete, Responsible, and Ready,” he noted the state’s appeal for international investments amidst India’s growing global significance.
Saint-Gobain, with four facilities in Rajasthan, has been pivotal in industrial development. Its “Learn While Earn” programme has trained over 1,250 individuals, including 110 women, promoting skillbuilding and inclusivity. The company’s sustainability initiatives, such as the largest rainwater harvesting system in Bhiwadi, address local challenges like water scarcity.
Over the last decade, Saint-Gobain has contributed nearly 50% of foreign investments in Rajasthan, earning eight Bhamashah Awards. Santhanam applauded Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma’s governance, citing initiatives like the Indira Gandhi Canal and improved air quality measures as investor-friendly.
Encouraging entrepreneurs and professionals, Santhanam urged them to embrace Rajasthan’s dynamic opportunities. “India is ready, and so is Rajasthan. Don’t wait— just do it,” he concluded, embodying the spirit of Rising Rajasthan as a platform for growth and innovation.
