RAJ POLICE LINKS ACCUSED TO DAWAT-E-ISLAMI, PAK DENIES

Udaipur: The NIA on Wednesday took over brutal killing of tailor Kanhaiya Lal Teli in Udaipur on Wednesday. Rajasthan police had booked 2 accused Riaz Akhtari and Ghouse Mohammad under the Unlawful Activities, DGP said. Meanwhile, curfew has been extended in 7 police station areas of Udaipur city for the next 24 hours as well as mobile internet services will remain closed for the next 24 hours across state. Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry has dismissed the preliminary investigation of Rajasthan Police. One of the killers had 10 Pak numbers on his phone, sources said.

Kanhaiya Lal Teli was bid a tearful adieu and cremated in Udaipur on Wednesday afternoon amid heavy security arrangements. A huge crowd gathered for his last journey after the curfew and people raised slogans of hanging the killers. Many cities including Udaipur, Jhalawar, Dungarpur, and Rajsamand remained closed in protest of the killing. His wife and sons demanded capital punishment for the killers.

Kanhaiya Lal’s postmortem was done on Wednesday and 26 wounds were found on the body. 8 to 10 wounds were only on the neck. His neck was slit and separated brutally. Officers of the rank of ADG, IG and SP were present during the postmortem and no one was allowed inside except the selected staff. The condition of his mother, wife and sons was such that people in the procession as well as the policemen could not stop their eyes from getting moist. His son lite the pyre at Ashok Nagar cremation ground. Gulab Chand Kataria and Ramlal Jat also attended the funeral.
