Raj AYUSH colleges see major seat reductions

Jaipur: Rajasthan’s AYUSH medical colleges face a significant setback as the BAMS course at Kekri’s AYUSH Medical College has been denied approval for the 2024-25 academic session. The National Council for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) rejected the application due to insufficient faculty and infrastructure. Additionally, second batch seat allocations have been drastically reduced at five other AYUSH colleges, with the total number of BAMS seats across all colleges being capped at 60. Seats approved include 11 for Bharatpur, 24 for Kota, 18 for Sikar, 14 for Bikaner, and 58 for Jaipur.

Provisional approval was taken last year for 144 posts showing recruitment in process, but despite document verification on those posts, young faculty are still waiting for posting. The surprising thing is that the officers responsible for the whole matter are now passing the buck to each other.
