Raj Assembly polls: Electoral equation of ‘winning candidate’ weighs heavy on ideology

Jaipur: This Assembly election of the State will be remembered for the politics of ‘Ayaram Gayaram’. Congress and BJP fulfilled one of their criteria regarding ticket distribution that they want a winning candidate at any cost. Even if its history does not match or does not match the ideology of the party. Due to this, in the last round of ticket distribution on Sunday, former MP Colonel Sonaram rejoined Congress and current Congress MLA Girraj Singh Malinga joined BJP. It was also decided that Sonaram would be the Congress candidate from Gudhamalani and Malinga would be the BJP candidate from Bari.

Not just these two, a similar picture was seen every other day in this Assembly election. In almost every list of BJP and Congress, tickets were given to such politicians who had contested the previous elections against the party from another party or as an independent candidate.

Congress gave tickets to more than 10 candidates who won last time from BSP and Independents. At the same time, BJP gave tickets to defector Darshan Singh Gurjar from Karauli and Ramnivas Meena from Todabhim the very next day of joining the party.

Congress did the same and gave ticket from Kishangarh to Vikas Choudhary, who left BJP after not getting the ticket, and as soon as he joined Congress. Such a long list has appeared in this time’s assembly elections.

This is a clear message that no one is untouchable in politics. If any wing of the opposition camp is capable of defeating him, then the parties have no hesitation in handing over their flag to him. Victory in elections is the ultimate truth and principle.
