Raids on 34 locations of 2 big hotel groups

Jaipur/Udaipur: Officials of the Income Tax Department on Wednesday morning started raids at 34 locations of Fateh Group, which runs a chain of hotels in Udaipur and Kumbhalgarh, and Rock Wood Group, the operator of Radisson Blu and other hotels and their business associates associated with destination wedding in Udaipur.

Till evening, the officials had succeeded in seizing cash worth Rs 75 lakh, jewelery worth lakhs of rupees, documents of investment in property worth crores of rupees and keys of 8 lockers during the raid.

Officials also cracked down on people involved in event management, tent house, sound services, travelers and people involved in catering business for these two groups and raided their offices and residences.

The residences of Fateh Group CEO Jitendra Rathore and Rock Wood Group director Somesh Aggarwal were also raided.

It is said that the Income Tax officials have also got some digital devices in their hands, in which minute details are recorded regarding the expenditure transactions from the booking of the wedding ceremony.
