PWD to take steps to prevent road accidents
Jaipur: Road safety experts and officials on Wednesday laid stress upon making concrete efforts to check road accidents in the state to prevent loss of lives. Speaking at a one-day workshop on road safety organised by PWD, they also gave suggestions regarding removing black spots. ADG Traffic Vijay Kumar Singh said that chief minister Ashok Gehlot is very serious about making the roads in the state safe, therefore it is the duty of all the concerned officials to ensure the construction of safe roads.
He asked the officers and engineers of PWD that special efforts were needed to prevent road accidents caused by illegal dividers, parking and animals on roads.
Singh said that speed limit boards should be put on the roads at appropriate places which should be clearly visible to the drivers. He said that the traffic police are also collecting fines for speed limit violations through modern interceptor vehicles.
Chief Engineer- NH R Meghwal said that the department is working on a war footing to make the state roads accident free.
