Public’s unique affection for an outgoing Collector grabs eyeballs!

Jaipur: Rakesh Kumar Jaiswal will retire on Tuesday after playing a long and record innings of 32 months as Collector in Dholpur.

Holding the post for such a long time in the present government could be possible only because of Jaiswal’s ability and talent, but keeping local politicians together is a big deal.

However, Jaiswal knowingly or unknowingly got embroiled in controversies due to his activities and actions in the last two months. Last week on May 26, stone pelting on police occurred in Bari town. At that time, Jaiswal was present in Bari, but forgetting his duty to control the situation, he was busy in his farewell ceremony

Even ten days before this, a big mistake committed by Jaiswal tarnished his image. When the police from Jaipur had reached Dholpur after arresting MLA Girraj Malinga in a serious crime of assaulting government employees, the Collector was present to welcome him. This incident was caught on camera and made headlines in the media. Fingers were raised on this conduct as a Collector.

Now, a new thing occured, wherein, during the time of Jaiswal’s retirement and farewell from Dholpur, hoardings carrying his photographs and praise were put up in the entire city. This is extraordinary and unusual. The one who did this is still unknown, but Jaiswal has posted the photo of these hoardings on his own Facebook, as well as expressed his gratitude in the post.

This post of Jaiswal is going viral on social media.

No other example has been seen in the recent years that the public has expressed their affection for a Collector in this way. A decade ago, between 2008 and 2010, Samit Sharma had created history while being the Chittorgarh and Nagaur Collector. When he was transferred from Chittorgarh in September 2009 after being posted as a Collector for 15 months, people came out on streets in protest and the entire Chittorgarh was closed for five days.

He was transferred to Nagaur in September 2009 as Collector. When he was transferred from there too after 15 months, the people of Nagaur also came out on the streets in Sharma’s favour.

The cities of Nagaur, Kuchaman and Didwana were closed for three days. Due to political pressure, Samit Sharma was transferred from both places & wasn’t liked by people. Sharma became popular in both districts.

Such kind of public affection & connectiontowards any Collector was visible in Dholpur after a decade.
