Premium of soya bean hiked to `1k per quintal

Jaipur: Rajasthan State Seed Corporation Chairman Dheeraj Gurjar said that government has increased the premium amount for farmers producing soybean seeds which was reduced from Rs 750 to Rs 500. “We have increased it again and now a premium of Rs 1000 per quintal will be given,” he said at a press conference.

He said that state government is going to implement a new scheme for the first time. Under this, land will be provided to seed producing institutions.
“They will be given 30 thousand quintals of soybean production in the first phase,” he said adding Raj will become the second state to start contract product program. He said packaging of seeds will done as per market.
