Pregnant women will get a sum of Rs 6,500

Jaipur: The Finance Minister announced that at present, under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, there is a provision to give Rs 5,000 in two installments to pregnant women for their first child. Diya Kumari has said that in the coming year the amount will be increased to Rs 6,500 in the first phase. She said that an amount of Rs 90 crore has been proposed for this.

The scheme is a maternity benefit programme being implemented in all districts of the country with effect from January 1, 2017.
