Pre-monsoon: Thunderstorm alert in many districts in State

Jaipur: The anticipation of the monsoon has been preluded by the onset of premonsoon showers, as per the forecast issued by the Meteorological Department for 8 districts.

The alert for thunderstorms and showers has been sounded in Bhilwara, Rajsamand, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jalore, Pali, Nagaur, and Jodhpur. This pre-monsoon spell is expected to continue until June 14.

At Karauli, the weather took a turn on Tuesday, as clouds covered the sky resulting in respite from the heat. Clouds started looming over the sky since morning at the district headquarters. The presence of clouds has not only brought a change in the weather but also resulted in a decrease in temperature. The alteration in weather has provided some relief to the locals, who now eagerly await the arrival of the pre-monsoon season, hoping for much-needed precipitation in rural areas as well. Meanwhile, the nuclear city of Pokaran continues to experience the wrath of the scorching heatwave, even after the rainfall.
