Power crisis in Raj: Five power units shut down

Jaipur: Power crisis looms over the state as five power generation units have shut down. There may be unannounced power cuts in the villages. Due to the closure of these units, 2690 MW power generation has been affected. These include three supercritical power generation units. According to the officials of Vidyut Utpadan Nigam, three units of Suratgarh have suddenly been closed, two of which are super critical. This has affected 1320 MW power generation and another unit which generated 250 MW has also stopped functioning. Besides, the two units of Chhabra have also been closed, one of them generating 660 MW is super critical, while a 210 MW power unit in Kota has stopped due to technical fault.This has affected 2690 MW power generation.
