PoW gets ready to hit tracks in Sept

Jaipur: With the efforts of chairman of Rajasthan Tourism Corporation Dharmendra Rathore, Palace on Wheels will resume operations after three years. On Monday, the refurbishment work of the Royal train started at 22 Godown yards in Jaipur with worship. Executive Engineer Jitendra Joshi, Assistant Manager Upendra Sharma, Assistant Engineer Sanjay Mathur and other employees of the Corporation were present during this. The Palace on Wheels is expected to start by late September or early October.

The refurbishment work will be done at a cost of about Rs 1.25 crore and would take a month’s time. The responsibility for this has been given to Sanjeeda Constructions and Fateh Mohini Suppliers. Joshi said that all the decoration works, including traditional painting, toilet, sofa, furniture upgradation, laying of new carpet will be done on the indoor and outdoor walls of Palace on Wheels. Rathore had promised to run the POW again after taking over as the Chairman. Ever since, he has been meeting Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnav, other ministers and MPs.
