Potash exploration report to be submitted by Mar 15

Jaipur: The G2 level exploration will be done for potential deposits of potash in the Satipura area of the state. After a detailed analysis of the samples available by the Geological Survey of India and MECL, the report will be submitted to the government by March 15. Additional Chief Secretary Mines and Petroleum Dr Subodh Agarwal said that out of the two blocks of Lakhasar and Satipura, an in-principle agreement has been reached with the Central Government for carrying out mining work by a state govt undertaking and auctioning the other block.

Agarwal had a virtual meeting with officials including Central Mines Secretary Vivek Bhardwaj, GSI, Mineral Exploration Corporation of India, Raj Mines and Mineral, and Director Mines Rajasthan on Friday regarding potash mining in the state. Union Mines Secretary Vivek Bhardwaj said that the Central Government is serious about starting the mining work of potash soon.
