Post mortem of IAS transfer list!

Jaipur: The handing over the reins of DIPR To Gaurav Goyal, IT to Anandi, LSG to KC Meena, Pollution Control Board to Shikhar Agrawal; the transfer of Naveen Mahajan, Mahesh Chand Sharma, Tara Chand Meena and Shruti Bhardwaj and the return of Neeraj K Pawan to Jaipur are some of the highlights of the IAS transfer list released late on Thursday night. Apart from this, posting has been accorded to five APO IAS and 14 IAS who have been promoted to RAS, which is also notable.

After a long time, an independent Secretary in Anandi has come in IT. For a long time, other secretaries had additional charge of this post. Young IAS Inderjeet Singh has been appointed as Commissioner in the department. It is now believed that the team of Anandi and Inderjeet will give a new direction to the department. However, not handing the responsibility of RAJCOMP Chairman to either of the duo has been a topic of discussion among bureaucracy.

Within three months, three Secretaries have been changed in LSG. First it was Jogaram, then Mahesh Sharma and now KC Meena.

2005 batch IAS KC Meena served as Divisional Commissioner of Kota for two years and came in close contact with minister Shanti Dhariwal. Word in the administrative circles is that his posting in LSG is owing to Dhariwal’s choice.

Shikhar Agrawal was making all efforts for the post of Chairman, Pollution Control Board and finally his efforts have paid off. But Naveen Mahajan’s transfer from the post in merely eight months is a major development. In the current government, it is Mahajan’s sixth transfer.

Shruti Bhardwaj was transferred from SAMSA within twenty five days and posted in the Insurance department. Niraj K Pawan has finally returned to Jaipur after twenty months. He was shifted to Bikaner in October 2020; although as of now he has been given ‘cold posting’ in the Ayurveda department.

Removal of Udaipur Collector Tarachand Meena is surprising as he was considered to be a trusted officer of the government. It was being said that he would be given a major responsibility, however, he has been posted as TAD Commissioner in Udaipur which is considered a ‘cold posting’.

It was being thought that through the list major changes at Secretary level will be done in UDH, PHED, DoP, Agriculture, GAD and Cooperatives amongst others. However that was not to be and as a result, a new list is now awaited by officials!
