Poll expenditure limit is Rs 95L: Gupta

Jaipur: Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta on Sunday informed that around 450 companies of paramilitary forces will be deployed for Lok Sabha elections which will be held in 2 phases in State. He said that 25 companies have arrived so far.

‘Postal ballot facility will be available for 10 days before date of two phase elections. Also, for the first time in Lok Sabha elections, home voting facility will be available.

However, this facility will be available to senior citizens of 85 years instead of 80 years. The CEO said that there are 7 types of determining the most sensitive booth. Regarding this, the District Election Officer and observer will report this to the election dept after that decision to make changes in law and order will be taken. He said that law and order and election expenditure limits have different sensitivities.

“This time the election expenditure limit is Rs 95 lakh, whereas last time it was Rs 80 lakh,” he informed. He was speaking at a workshop on ‘Media Ethics, Role of Media in Elections’ organized by the Election Department in secretariat.
