Police use force as protesters pelt stones

Bassi (Jaipur): The people protested by keeping all the four dead bodies, who were crushed by Thar jeep, at the spot in Kotkhawada on Monday for the second day.

Former Deputy CM Sachin Pilot reached the spot on Monday and met the relatives and people of the deceased. He asked the people sitting on the dharna to hold talks in the tehsil office, but things did not work out. Chaksu MLA Ved Prakash Solanki also accompanied him.

People raised slogans against MLA Solanki. The crowd went berserk. Stones were also pelted and the police lathi-charged.

An agreement was reached on the demands of the victims’ families on Monday evening after which the protest ended and 4 dead bodies were removed from the spot in the presence of MP Dr Kirodi Lal Meena who handed over Rs 2 lakh in cash from his salary.

MLA Vedprakash Solanki handed over a cheque of Rs 10 lakh from CM Chiranjeevi scheme and announced to give his two months’ salary.

Dr Kirori also sat on a dharna along with the relatives of the deceased outside DGP Umesh Mishra’s bungalow for not registering an FIR in the Kotkhawada accident in Jaipur.
