Plane hijack mock drill tests response to airport security

Jaipur: A mock drill of aircraft hijack was conducted at Jaipur International Airport on Friday in which an Indigo plane was shown hijacked.

The plane was going from Dhaka to Delhi with a total of 132 passengers, including 40 students. However, after one an half hours efforts, the security forces killed the terrorists and rescued the passengers safely.

When the police was informed from the airport CISF control room that a hijacked plane had landed in Jaipur, the police and other security agencies immediately started reaching the airport.

However, they soon learned it to be a mock drill. In the mock drill, officials from Jaipur Airport Administration, CISF, Rajasthan Police, CID, Bomb Disposal Squad, Central Intelligence, Civil Defence, District Administration and other agencies, which handle the security of the airport, participated.

After the completion of the operation, a review meeting was held regarding the mock drill.

The response time of agencies reaching the airport was checked during the meeting.

The plane hijack mock drill was conducted at the isolation way of Tango Taxi at the airport.
