PHONE TAPPING PETITION AGAINST CM, OTHERS REJECTED AGAIN

Jaipur: In the Rajasthan phone tapping case, the court of ADJ Metropolitan First, on Saturday, rejected the revision petition of complainant Omprakash Solanki against CM Ashok Gehlot and others. Solanki had on August 5, 2020 presented a petition against Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot (who holds the Home portfolio), Chief Whip Mahesh Joshi, Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, DGP, ADG SOG, SHO and OSD to the CM seeking an FIR under various sections of the IPC, the Official Secrets Act, the Telegram Act and the IT Act. Petitioner had termed phone tapping without procedure as an act of sedition. A local court had earlier rejected the petition after which Solanki appealed in the court of ADJ Metropolitan First.
