Jaipur: The ACB on Sunday nabbed three engineers and one contractor of the Public Health Engineering Department in connection with a bribery case involving Rs 2.20 lakh. The bureau also recovered Rs 2.90 lakh from vehicles of the accused.
The accused Executive Engineer Mayalal Saini of Behror PHED, JEN Pradeep PHED Neemrana, contractor Padam Jain and a broker Praveen Kumar were held with the bribe amount. The accused were brought to the ACB headquarters for further questioning.
The action was taken following the direction of ADG ACB Hemant Priyadarshy and DIG Randhir Singh. Priyadarshy said that the accused had sought bribe in lieu of passing the bills for works done by the contractor.
The accused were nabbed in a room-cumoffice at Polo Victory in Jaipur.
