People losing faith in Parliamentary democracy, says Owaisi @TJ-2022
Jaipur: AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday said that people are losing faith in parliamentary democracy and the issues which need discussion are not being discussed in parliament. He was speaking at Parliament@75 session of Talk Journalism. He added that a Sri Lankalike situation can happen in India too. On the same issue, Rajasthan Assembly speaker CP Joshi said that if parliamentary democracy is to be strengthened, then there should be discussion in the house and the house should be run for 200 days. The concluding session of Talk Journalism was addressed by Asaduddin Owaisi, CP Joshi and communist leader D Raja.
Expressing concern on the current state of parliamentary democracy, Owaisi said, “There is no debate on the issues which need discussion in Parliament.” He said that Muslims are the most affected due to the politics of Hindu-Muslim. The AIMIM chief said that his party will contest elections in Raj with full strength.
He said that people came on road on farmers’ issues, Agnipath issue because people are losing faith. Owaisi deferred questions regarding the ban on PFI. CP Joshi said that the house should ideally run for 200 days to strengthen parliamentary democracy. He said that the headquarters of Congress and BJP is in Delhi but still the Aam Aadmi Party emerged victorious in Delhi and formed the govt, which reflects disillusionment of people from both BJP and Cong. “Now the public has a choice, so they should be heard,” he said. Meanwhile, rape victim in Rohit Joshi’s son case also reached Hotel Clarks Amer to narrate the ordeal to Owaisi.
