Patients’ referrals must go online in 72 hours: ACS

Jaipur: ACS Shubhra Singh visited the SMS Hospital to take stock of the hospital arrangements on Saturday after First India reported problems faced by patients here. She inspected the OPD to IPD and held a meeting with hospital officials. SMS Hospital Superintendent Dr Anchal Sharma and other officials were present in the meeting.

Expressing displeasure over patients wandering for referrals, Singh said that patient references must go online at SMS in the next 72 hours. She instructed SMS Medical College Principal Dr Rajeev Bagrahatta to make references of attached hospitals also online and view ‘referrals’ through IMHS portal.

Singh said that patients should not get a ‘Not Available’ stamp on their prescriptions. “They should get all medicines over the hospital counter and hospital stores should have other options of medicine in stock,” she said.

Sharing her experience, Singh said that there is a lot of rush here which leaves people with bitter experience. She said that the number of patients in SMS is a big challenge but there should be ways so that patients coming from far flung places face minimum problems.
