Organ transplant panel in all hosps

Jaipur: The Organ transplant committees will be formed in every government medical college to promote organ donation and to carry out other important activities including setup related to organ transplant in the state.

Voluntary organizations working in the field of organ donation will also be included in these committees. ACS Medical and Health Dept Shubhra Singh issued instructions in this regard in review meeting and said that after organ donation done in govt hospitals, all kinds of follow-up tests would be done free of cost for one year. The expenditure on these follow up tests will be borne through the respective RMRS. Singh said that the State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTO) would issue an annual calendar to provide necessary training to the concerned doctors.

Along with this, she also directed to take action to restart a separate department of Critical Care, Anesthesia and Organ Transplant in SMS Hospital. The ACS directed the Head of Department of SMS Medical College to start keratoplasty training in August to promote eye donation.
