Op ‘Clean Sweep’ to curb menace of drug peddling
Jaipur: The Jaipur Police Commissionerate through their Operation ‘Clean Sweep’, have registered 442 FIRs and arrested 838 drug peddlers in a campaign against drug peddling in the past year. The officials claimed the campaign began in 2019 and has effectively curbed the menace of drug peddling in the state capital.
Additional Commissioner Kailash Vishnoi informed that a special team has been formed for this operation and the team only look after cases related to drug peddling. According to officials, drug dealers used to openly sell drugs outside educational institutions in the city, but after this operation, such activities have been reduced in Jaipur.
Along with Jaipur, the campaign is being run in other parts of Rajasthan and action is being taken against the menace of drug peddling. Illegal narcotics drugs like cannabis, opium, LSD, Brown Sugar, tramadol and aprazol have been seized in the recent past during a crackdown on drug peddling. New measures are also being adopted to curb drug peddling.
