Now Niranjan Arya can also jump in race for RERA Chairmanship!

Jaipur: A new name has come to the fore for the vacant chair of Chairman of Rajasthan Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) and that name is of former Rajasthan Chief Secretary Niranjan Arya, who is currently serving as advisor to CM Ashok Gehlot.

A possibility was being expressed in the political and administrative circles that the candidature of current CS Usha Sharma is ensured. The UDH has invited applications for this selection post and the last date of application is July 5.Although after the retirement of Nihal Chand Goel in April, the seat of RERA Chairman had gone vacant, but the notice inviting application was given in papers after two months. It is being believed that this was done so that after CS Usha Sharma retired on June 30, she can apply for the position by July 5.

There is no doubt that Usha Sharma has played a successful innings as CS and during this time she has also earned CM Ashok Gehlot’s trust and faith. CM wants to keep her associated with him and the governance after retirement as well and for this he can place her on the chair of RERA Chairman as she is capable for the position from every aspect.

But word in the relevant circles is that now Niranjan Arya too has entered the race. The manner in which the Gehlot government went out of way in November 2020 and made him Chief Secretary sidelining several senior officers proved that Arya is a close and trusted officer of CM Gehlot. This thought was cemented further when after Arya’s retirement in January 2022, CM didn’t let go of him and instead inducted him in his team as advisor to CM.

Niranjan Arya has political ambitions and post retirement, he has been active in political activities in Pali. He is even preparing ground with the hope of contesting legislative assembly elections from Pali. But it is being said that his heart has suddenly taken a U-turn and he wants to return to administration. Only Arya can reveal the reason for this U-turn, but for his return in state govt, the door for the post of RERA Chairman is open. If he gets the post, then he can stay at its helm till January 2027.

So now, finally who will become RERA Chairman, will be decided by CM Ashok Gehlot, but in July, new RERA Chairman will definitely be appointed.
