Now licence mandatory for selling used vehicles

Jaipur: The business of second hand vehicles is very big across the state, including Jaipur, as there are a lot of people selling second hand vehicles in every city. After the growing number of centers and complaints received against them, the Transport Department has decided to control this trade and made a licence necessary for this same.

The transport department has issued guidelines for obtaining trade licence by applying online. The trader will have to pay a fee of 25000 to the transport dept to get the trade licence. The department has authorised the DTO to issue the trade licence else action will be taken against them, said KL Swamy, Transport Commissioner. Due to lack of control of the Transport Dept, there was arbitrariness in buying and selling of vehicles at these centers.

The department had also received complaints like stolen vehicles being delivered several times along with the people buying second hand vehicles.
