Now, CPMs to help finish railway projects swiftly

Jaipur: The Railway Board has made a new change in order to speedily complete about 100 ongoing projects across the country including Rajasthan. Now Chief Project Manager level officers will be appointed to complete the projects in Zonal Railways. The responsibility of these officers will be to complete the projects of laying new railway lines, doubling and gauge conversion.

The project of Ratlam to Dungarpur via Banswara rail line was announced more than a decade ago, but this project hasn’t started. Now CPMs will be appointed separately for all current & future projects. At present 8 major projects related to passenger amenities are going on in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ajmer & Bikaner divisions, which have been running slow due to technical reasons.
