No land compensation, if award of compensation is in cash: UDH

Jaipur: Raj govt has issued a policy for giving land compensation against the acquisition. UDH and LSG issued a joint order after incorporating all circulars, orders, and notifications issued in the past. As per the order, land compensation will not be given in cases in which award of compensation is in cash, local body has taken possession of land and plan has been fully implemented, or award money is deposited in court or has been paid to leaseholder and the plan has been fully implemented.

In both such cases, land compensation will not be given now. Cases in which cash compensation has been paid or land allotment has been done will also not be reopened for compensation. For land compensation in lieu of land acquisition, the government has clarified two types of situations. A lottery will be drawn for land compensation.

If the land is acquired for a special project in an ecological zone, then up to 50 percent of the developed plot will be given in compensation but approval of the state government will have to be taken. A developed plot of 1000 square meters will be given as per the order. Resorts, motels, farmhouses, eco-friendly houses & sports complexes are permissible in such areas.
