New mineral policy will be more forward looking: Min Bhaya

Jaipur: Mines Minister Pramod Jain Bhaya gave important information in the Oil, Gas and Mining Conclave organized for the first time in the state on Wednesday.

The new mineral policy of the state will be more forward-looking, promoting the mining sector rapidly and connecting all sections of the society with mining, he said while addressing the inaugural session of the Conclave at Hotel Marriott.
 

In the new policy, according to the intention of the Chief Minister, there will be reservation in the allocation process for the SC, ST, women, speciallyabled, unemployed, technocrats and youth. Provisions are being made to connect common citizens with the mining sector in the state, he said. Revenue Minister Ram Lal Jat, ACS Mines Dr. Subodh Agarwal, Colombian Ambassador Mariana Pacheco Montes inaugurated the conclave by lighting the lamp. A Renewable Energy Coffee Table Book was also released on the occasion.

Bhaya said that in the last 3.5 years, records of achievements have been made from mineral exploration, development of plots of new major and minor minerals, from auction to revenue earning. Referring to the oil and gas sector, Bhaya said that in 14 districts divided into four basins, 11 abundant oil and gas leases have been approved, while 15 new exploration licences are being issued. Subodh Agrawal said that the state has come on the world map with discovery of uranium. Montes said Colombia’s economy is also heavily dependent on the mining sector and a lot of work is going on in the energy sector.
