‘NEITHER RANK NOR PENSION, ONLY TENSION’

Jaipur: Congress leaders and workers on Monday held protests against the Centre’s Agnipath scheme in all 200 assembly constituencies in Rajasthan.

Food and civil supplies minister Pratap Singh in Jaipur targeted the central govt over the scheme. “Elections to the Legislative Assembly & Lok Sabha are held for 5 years. There is a pension for MLA & MP in the country, but now the soldiers fighting the war with the enemy on the border will not get the pension,” he said.

“Now in this country, there is neither rank nor pension. The young man has only tension. The tension is that airports of entire country have been given to Adani for 50 years but jobs are given to the jawans for 4 years,” he said.

The minister said that the Govt of India is unable to give soldiers jobs after their retirement after 15 years of service, so from where will the govt give jobs to Agniveers who come out after 4 years’ service.

Demonstrations were held across all eight assembly constituencies of Jaipur.
