Nearly 6K deaths in over 12,000 accidents till June

Jaipur: The recent figures of the road accidents in the State till June, released by the Police Headquarters, are frightening. According to these figures released by the department, 12,079 road accidents took place in the State till June this year, out of which, 5,733 people died while 11,894 were seriously injured. On an average, 67 road accidents took place in Rajasthan every day during till June.

The top five districts of Jaipur range in road accidents are Jaipur Rural, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Alwar and Dausa which recorded 2421 road accidents with 1046 deaths and 2196 injured. The Udaipur Range is at number two, Ajmer Range at number three, Jodhpur Range at number four and Jaipur Police Commissionerate at number five. Compared to June 2021 last year, there has been an increase of 21 percent in road accidents this year during same tenure.
