My party is like my mother: Dr Kirodi over intel inputs
Jaipur: The controversy surrounding the cancellation of the Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment exam escalated as BJP leader Dr Kirodi Lal Meena met State Home Minister Jawahar Singh Bedham to discuss alleged police action against protesting students. Following the meeting, the Home Minister assured Meena that arrangements would be made for the students to meet the Chief Minister on December 5. Meena alleged that on the previous night, police forcibly detained several students from their homes, causing unnecessary distress. He further accused a fake Circle Inspector (CI) of harassing students and promised to share related documents with the media.
Addressing the press, Meena expressed concern over the government’s attempts to tarnish his image. He claimed intelligence reports falsely suggested his involvement in plans to disrupt the Rising Rajasthan event and the Prime Minister’s visit to Jaipur. “I am a loyal party worker for 50 years. My party is like my mother, and I would never harm its interests,” he said. Denying any intent to create disruptions, Meena emphasized his commitment to open and fair challenges, referencing his principles of transparency and honor in political battles. “If I fight, it will be faceto-face, like Maharana Pratap, with integrity,” he remarked. The students who accompanied Meena also shared their grievances with the media. Affected students, including Manju Sharma and Vikas, alleged that the police acted brutally, targeting them without justification. They asserted that they had no plans to disrupt Rising Rajasthan event or PM’s visit.
