Muhana wetland set to get a boost
Jaipur: In the heart of bustling Jaipur, a remarkable transformation is unfolding as a sprawling wetland emerges, infusing the capital with the serenity of nature. Guided by the JDA, an expansive area spanning a thousand bighas within the Muhana Conservation Reserve is evolving into a tranquil haven. The wetland is being developed on the lines of Ghana bird sanctuary.
A budget of Rs 8 crore has been allocated by the JDA for the initiative and under the expert supervision of DCF Sangram Singh and the project is taking shape under Range Officer Janeshwar Chaudhary. The project is expected to be fully realized by February, taking inspiration from the acclaimed Ghana Bird Sanctuary.
The wetland is thoughtfully divided into three components: grassland, wetland, and woodland.
An impressive 125 bird species already have their presence in this area.
To safeguard the avian residents, a 6-foot wall and a 4-foot chain-link fence have been erected.
Consistent water supply from the Nevata dam has been ensured, and a 5 km walking path for bird enthusiasts has been thoughtfully constructed.
