More than Rs 1,005 cr to be given to 50 lakh beneficiaries via DBT
Jaipur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will transfer an amount of more than Rs 1,005 crore as pension for the month of May and June to the bank accounts of more than 50 lakh beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer under the State Level Social Security Pension Scheme Beneficiary Dialogue Programme.
Gehlot will also interact with the beneficiaries in this program to be organised through video conference at Chief Minister’s Residence at 12 noon today. District level beneficiary dialogue programs will also be organised in all districts and they will be con - nected to the state level dialogue programme through VC. It is notable that more than 50 lakh beneficiaries of Social Security Pension Scheme have so far registered themselves in inflation relief camps that started from April 24.
Secretary, Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Dr Samit Sharma said that under 7 social security pension schemes, social security pension is being provided to old people, single women, specially abled and small & marginal farmers to provide economic support and presently 93.50 lakh persons are getting its benefits.
“Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had announced to increase the minimum pension amount payable to beneficiaries up to the age of 75 years to Rs 1000 per month in the budget of year 2023-24. About 67 lakh pensioners coming under this ambit will get the benefit of this announcement and the State government will bear an additional Rs 2,222 crore every year on this. The Chief Minister had also announced an automatic increase in the pension amount by 15 percent every year,” he said.
