Monsoon to remain active; rain forecast for 5-6 days

Jaipur: Monsoon is set to remain active in the state with rain forecasted for the next 5-6 days due to a low-pressure area over West Bengal and Odisha. The monsoon trough line is stable, ensuring persistent rain in eastern Rajasthan, including Kota, Udaipur, and Ajmer divisions. Western Rajasthan, particularly Jodhpur and Bikaner, will also experience rainfall.

Increased rain activity is anticipated from July 29-31, with moderate to heavy showers expected in some areas. In Shahpura, Jaipur, a brief but heavy downpour lasted 20 minutes on Saturday, benefiting crops but offering little relief from the heat. Meanwhile, preparations are underway to open the gates of Panchana Dam in Karauli district as its water level nears full capacity at 257.35 meters.
