Mining sector is backbone of modern civilization: ACS

Jaipur: ACS Mines and Petroleum Veenu Gupta, while addressing the inaugural session of Mining, Oil and Gas Conclave at Hotel Marriott on Friday, said that role and importance of mining sector can be understood from fact that today technological advancement, energy security & sustainable economic growth cannot be imagined without this sector. She said that in a true sense, it is backbone of modern civilization.

Gupta said that while there are deposits of valuable major and minor minerals in Rajasthan, it has become the cement hub of the country. She added that a revenue of Rs 7,000 crore was earned in last financial year and a new record will be created.

J&K UT’s Mines Secretary Rashmi Singh, Director Mines(Raj) Sandesh Nayak, ACS PHED Subodh Aggarwal, JCTSL CMD Ajitabh Sharma, and RSGL MD Ranveer Singh also addressed the various sessions.
